01
Whole Home Systems
Softening for hardness, filtration for iron, chlorine, taste and smell. On a well or on town groundwater this is where the biggest change in the house comes from.

Whole-Home Softening + Filtration
One tank, layered. Softening and carbon filtration in the same vessel.
A single tank carrying layered media — granular activated coconut shell carbon on top, high-capacity softening resin beneath it, and a polishing gravel bed at the base — with its own brine tank alongside. It is plumbed in where the water enters the house, so every tap, shower and appliance is downstream of it. The resin takes out the hardness that scales your kettle, spots your glassware and stops soap rinsing. The carbon layer takes out the chlorine taste and smell. One vessel, both jobs, and a smaller footprint than a two-tank build.

Dual Tank System
Two tanks. Hardness in one, chlorine and taste in the other.
The bigger city-water build: a dedicated softening tank and a dedicated carbon filtration tank, plumbed in one after the other at the point of entry. Treating in stages does each job properly rather than asking one bed of media to do everything, which means more capacity, longer media life and better performance on a busy house. Both tanks backflush themselves to keep the system working for longer.

Whole-Home Carbon Filtration
For soft water that still tastes of the pipe it came through.
Most of Rhode Island and the MWRA belt already arrives soft, so there is no hardness for a softener to remove — but there is still chlorine, and still everything the water picks up crossing a hundred years of main on the way to your kitchen. This is a single tank of granular activated coconut shell carbon over a polishing gravel bed, plumbed in at the point of entry. No salt, no brine tank, no drain line and nothing to refill. Every tap, shower and appliance in the house runs through it.

Wells & groundwaterWell Water Treatment
For every home drawing its water straight out of the ground.
Most of western and southern Rhode Island is well country — Foster, Glocester, Scituate, Burrillville, Exeter, Richmond, Charlestown, Hopkinton, West Greenwich and Little Compton run almost entirely on private bedrock wells, and so do a great many homes beyond the mains elsewhere. Add the towns that pump town groundwater rather than reservoir water, from South County to every town on Cape Cod, and that is a completely different problem from a treated surface supply. Hardness and iron, usually. Often a sulfur smell, which no softener will touch — it has to be oxidised out first, which is why this build is staged.

Drinking Water Systems
Reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink — the upgrade every home notices first. Better coffee, better ice, no chlorine, and no more buying bottled water.
The one people notice firstReverse Osmosis Drinking Water
The glass of water you actually want to drink.
A softener handles hardness and carbon handles taste. Reverse osmosis handles what neither is built for: the dissolved solids that come with a hundred years of iron main and older service lines between the plant and your kitchen. Reverse osmosis sits under the kitchen sink and treats the water you actually drink and cook with.

Add Ons
The layer that finishes the job — ultraviolet on a well, and the pieces that make a system complete.

Whole-Home UV Purifier
Light, not chemicals — and it belongs on well water.
Ultraviolet light neutralises bacteria as water enters the house. Nothing is added to the water. On a private well this is the layer that matters most after a wet spring or a flood, and southern New England has plenty of both.
